James E. "Duke" Bullard
James E. "Duke" Bullard has represented insurance companies through all phases of litigation in both first- and third-party matters, arising out of personal, professional and commercial lines. The vast majority of his cases have been in the areas of defective construction, construction injuries, products liability, landslide, subsidence and premises liability, both as a defense lawyer and as those areas relate to insurance coverage issues. He has handled the complete range of insurance coverage matters arising out of personal, commercial, and specialty lines and has also litigated in the areas of insurance bad faith and professional malpractice.
Duke has successfully defended major insurance companies in bad faith litigation and declaratory relief actions in State and Federal Court. He specializes in handling complex disputes involving insurance coverage matters and rendering advice under a wide variety of policies, including property, liability and excess policies.
Duke has audited numerous insurance policies and forms. He has also lectured extensively on insurance coverage and litigation.
Duke received his B.A. from the University of Colorado, and his J.D. from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. Jeremy Beal specializes in first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters, complex insurance litigation, and catastrophic injury and property damage litigation.
Jeremy provides counsel to insurers nationwide. He is admitted in and actively litigates in State and Federal Courts in California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas. Jeremy has extensive experience representing General Contractors and insurers of General Contractors in all manner of litigation and insurance coverage related matters. Jeremy is a frequent presenter on complex litigation and insurance issues, with an emphasis on Additional Insured and Contractual Indemnity risk transfer.
Jeremy represents a wide range of businesses, providing counsel on contractual issues, formation, and litigation on public and private works projects. Jeremy represents several Fortune 500 companies, including Aggregate Industries, Holcim, and Newmont Mining Company.

Jeremy graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA in 1993, and was in the top 15% of his class at Loyola Law School.
Patrick E. Naughton
Patrick Naughton specializes in civil litigation and third-party insurance defense. He also litigated numerous claims involving dental and medical malpractice, professional liability and premise and security guard liability, as well as transportation and mold related cases. Besides having representing cities, counties, schools and water districts, his experience has included litigation of bad faith actions, catastrophic injury cases, high profile damage issues and fraud cases. Mr. Naughton has been retained to represent questionable insurance claims as well.
He has argued before the California Court of Appeals on numerous occasions and has an extensive trial background in both state and federal courts.
Patrick received his B.S. in Political Science and History from California State University of Fresno and his J.D. Degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California. He was the winner of the best brief award in moot court competition.
Patrick was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1978 and is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
Jazmine Pelayo is part of BBB’s coverage and litigation team where her wide-ranging practice focuses on complex litigation, including premises liability, products liability, construction, and business disputes. She represents a wide variety of clients at both the federal and state level. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, developers, general contractors, design professionals, restaurants, manufacturers, and distributors. Jazmine also represents public entities and municipalities, which require specialized handling.
Jazmine studied at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England as part of a comparative law program. She received her B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Math from California State University, Los Angeles and her J.D. Degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
